You must contact the Domestic Relations Office of Clarion County at the above address, to initiate a claim for child support or spousal support. The Domestic Relations office will schedule an initial conference, which will be held before a Conference Officer. If either party is not in agreement with the Order issued by the Conference Officer, the Domestic Relations Office must be notified that you wish to file exceptions, or to file an appeal, within ten days of the Conference Officer's Order. The filing fee for the appeal is approximately $40.00.
When either party files an appeal, Domestic Relations will schedule a hearing before the Hearing Officer. The Hearing Officer, after hearing the case, will render his /her opinion in the form of a Report and Recommendation. Any appeal filed must be forwarded to the Court of Common Pleas.
